The firm had an existing internal-only product used daily for brokers, however it was an out-of-the-box execution: functional, however the UI and UX were not only tedious but also lacked proper accessibility requirements.
I built on top of the existing firm's brand and evolved it from a product perspective: navigation, table components for complex sets of data, alert/confirmation notifications, improvement of flow reducing clicks, implementation of keyboard shortcuts for power users, as well as the addition of personalized experiences catering to users who frequent subsets of the product to make them more readily available.
Navigation/Flow
Navigation and flow needs to be updated to improve both browsing Application Groups and Applications as well as reducing the number of clicks needed for existing functionality.
Information Architecture
Improve relationship between general site and regional content/sites through site structure, but also by updating, consolidating, and simplifying information architecture.
Visual Design
Opportunity to further implement the firm's Design System theme through engaging UI across visual and interactive elements (style, layout, color, icons, roll-overs, links, etc.), making engagement simplistic and impactful for all users.
Self-driven Experience
Incorporating a dashboard/landing page showcasing features (To Do, Scheduled Reporting, Favorites, Most Recent), users need to be able to select their destination clearly and easily, reducing effort to engage with EWS.
Once complete, the product website had branding and execution of an optimal User Experience, a majority of it from scratch.
Client
Financial services firm with ~$350B in assets under management, internal-only product
Role
Creative Director (Sole UX contributor)
Location
San Francisco and Remote
The firm had an opportunity to build an extensive use of components for reuse: not just for Design, but for Development teams to bring websites to market faster.
For a large financial services firm, analytics showed that while homepage traffic was high, user engagement was very low, with most users not browsing content or engaging in links out of frustration that it didn't speak immediately to their needs.
This real estate holdings firm was in need of a completely new web and mobile presence. I identified takeaways and high-impact opportunities while performing an audit of the current website, as well as comparative and competitive site findings and new branding and website design.
